Trust is at the foundation of any relationship. Before an individual can be one with rest of his brothers and sisters in beginning a life of committed service, he must first learn to trust himself first. The first step is about learning all one’s fears and challenges. This lesson is best understood during the trust fall, where every participant is given the opportunity to face his fears and to overcome them.
Participating in the trust fall requires one to completely let go of his or her inhibitions. Learning to trust one’s self ultimately leads to trusting others as well. With the rest of a participant’s team ready to catch him, it only takes one brief moment of letting go of one’s fear to change one’s outlook on challenges. The trust fall also allows the participants to realize the value of trust in a team, and how this solidifies and strengthens a group.
