15th MAY 2010, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
A group of
twelve very committed and excited leaders worked behind the scenes to
get things ready for a smooth flowing AVP World Tour. They took the
decision to serve from the heart and ensure that nothing was missing
from our end to make the event one of the most memorable for the
participants and the honoured guests. We did our best to make the most
out of this event.
We all had a
meeting at the venue one day before the event do the hall set up which
included arranging the chairs, the VIP sitting area, the stage and
setting and testing of the music system, microphones, the projector and
trying out all the video clips provided by The V for the event.
Tickets and registration forms were also prepared in advance.
We gave priority
to ensuring that the sound system is perfect and the registration flow
is smooth and fast to ensure we can start the event on time. Also,
priority was given to ensure the VIP hospitality and security is taken
care of.
On the day of
the event, the InService reported at 12:30pm and completed the final
touches: included rechecking the microphones, decorating the VIP area,
setting up the registration desk and also preparing for the VIP
hospitality requirements.
Registration
started at 1:30pm and we opened doors at 2:30pm. All InService comrades
took their positions in the hall and the event finished by 7:30pm. The
event was very exciting, and we thank The V for giving us this amazing
platform to be able to serve our team. In the process of serving them,
we become better human beings and we strive to make a difference to
those around us.
